When It Feels Like a Desert

When life feels like a desert...
with sun blazing stifling heat melting your innards,
dry winds blowing gritty sand into your eyes,
and prickly plants scratching your skin...

When you can't find a better perspective
because your legs won't rise up under the pressures
and you find yourself lying face down...

reach out to find a softness like no other, a lamb's ear,
and find your oasis and comfort in sharing your suffering
with the Lamb, who is worthy.
~ Dorie

...and he [John] looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"

Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne
and the living creatures and the elders;
and the number of them was myriads of myriads,
and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,

"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches
and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."

And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth
and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them,
I heard saying,

"to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,
be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.

*Inspiration for this post was found on this visit to the gardens. The pictures were taken that evening when we walked through a grey/desert garden display.

    1. Amen and praise God - He does provide for our every need, even in the driest of places! Your comment brings tears to my eyes. I know the pain of a dry place (the deserts of life) and I am ever so grateful for His comfort, too.

  3. Beautiful words (and photos to match)! I have some lamb's ear in my yard and I will now look at it in a different way.

    1. Thank you, Angel. I, too, will never look at lamb's ear the same. I love how God's creation points back to Him, our Creator. It has His hand prints all over it :-)
