The 1000th Gift

For well over a year, I have been counting.  Counting the Lord's blessings in my life along with numerous women at A Holy Experience for Multitude Mondays.

Today, I name the 1,000th gift, and this is it: this very journey to 1,000.

Many other women have gone on before me, and many will continue after me.  To each of you, I can not encourage you enough to see it through to the 1,000th gift.  Through this simple act of counting blessings, my love and gratitude for the Lord has deepened, and my perspective on blessings has changed.

Discovering the shear abundance of blessings has indeed been a blessing in itself.

Now that I have named 1,000 of the gifts, I will no longer post a list each and every Monday, but I want to continue encouraging others on their own gratitude journey. In that spirit, I've compiled the links for my gratitude listing. Some of the posts were painful to write, others pleasant, but all authentic, real life experiences of my journey to 1,000.  You can find that list here.

For those who have enjoyed and been encouraged by my sharing, I will continue to share blessings from time to time, because blessing don't end at 1,000.  No, the Lord continues to bless each of us, every day.

And, for the record, I won't stop counting.  I need to keep counting.  It is one way I focus on His goodness, mercy, and grace in my life.  He does so much for me, how can I not say shout,
"Thank You!"
~ Dorie

A special note to Ann: Thank you for sharing the idea and the journey with us all, for the encouragement you write in words, and for the community gathering.  These are all blessings to me!

...continuing my gratitude listing...

1000.  the journey to 1,000 which changed my attitude and perspective

...and so this journey to 1000 ends, but each morning opportunities for gratitude begin again.

  8. Though I am not counting to 1000, I am finding that it is VERY healthy for me to be counting my blessings every Friday. You truly are a grace filled woman. Thank you for blessing me in our relationship!
