Mistaken Idenity

"Mom it snowed last night!" she tears down the steps and looks out at the front yard.
"What?"  I begin to ask.  There was no forecast for snow.

Looking outside, I see white cased over grass, roof tops, and cars.  A thin layer of frost has made the world white.

"Oh," I begin trying to explain, "it is frost, not snow."
Her shining face darkens instantly.
Hope is gone.
No sledding or snowman building today.

By nine in the morning, her snow-frost was gone, melted away, revealing truth.

As she goes about another day without snow, I cannot help but wonder at the similarities...

...they exchanged the truth of God for a lie...Romans 1:25

What am I mistaking for the truth?
What lies am I holding onto?

  1. Awwww, bless her little heart. Great point though. I pray God's light will shine in all areas of our lives that there would be no deception.

    Happy WFW!

  4. I loved the analogy of this story. It also made me think how God must feel about us sometimes when we choose other "gods" besides Him to be our Lord.

Such humbling thoughts to think about.
