Anticipating Christmas

We live in between.

photograph credit ~ Jerry

In between
His first coming
and
His second.

As I complete my final preparations
for our celebration of Christmas,
I think about how I am preparing for His second coming.

Am I just as ready for that day as I am for Christmas?
Do I take the time to plan and live each moment with purpose for that coming day?
Am I celebrating what is to come as much as I celebrate what has already happened?

"And behold, I am coming quickly.  Blessed is he who heeds the words of prophecy in this book."
~ Jesus
Revelation 22:7 (NASB)

Dear Lord,
This Christmas,
please let me anticipate
and be in awe of
Your future second coming
just as much as I joyously
celebrate Your first.
Amen.

  5. Dorie,

What a beautiful reminder - to be prepared for the coming of Christ!

It's also a "scary" reminder as well. We get so "caught-up" in our busy days, I think we might forget to be ready for the return of our Savior.

By the way, I like the first picture of the nativity scene. Did you and your children make that? :)

    Blessings,

  6. Lady Rose,
That is a beautiful nativity scene, isn't it? No, we did not make it. We saw it one time after we ate out, as it was close by the parking lot. My husband and I spoke about making one like it someday, but for now, we just enjoy the photograph.
