Flowers of the Field

As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
Psalm 103:15

Today, as I look out over the flower bed,
I see only the dead remains of these beautiful flowers from just six months ago.
No evidence of their past beauty, except this photograph, exists.
The time I spent gazing at their beauty and attempting to capture it in photographs was brief,
a couple of months at most.
This verse compares our lives to that of flowers, both fleeting.
Our time is short.  Our time is valuable.
Let us spend our short time bringing beauty to the world around us,
just as these daisies did this past summer.

  1. So hard to remember that we are only a vapor when compared to the enormity of time. Blessedly, wonderfully we know a God who can take our meager offerings to Him and make them into so much more!

    Have a restful Sunday!

  6. He has a wonderful way reminding us of our immortality, but at the same time letting us know through Him we can do great things. Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

  7. :) Love your bright flowers! --and that verse was very similar to another verse I was originally going to use.

    It is weird to think that I have a picture of something that isn't there anymore, and won't be there again (well, exactly again... I'm sure the flowers will return!!)

    Thanks for the visit!
