Banners of Love

While the children were having fun crafting mosaic hearts to send to relatives, I decided to make a few simple decorations for Valentine's Day.

Inspired by the conversational candy hearts the children receive annually from relatives,

I cut heart shapes out of colored papers and wrote on each heart.

Then, reusing the rope from this green and yellow banner (it was for the recent Super Bowl),

I threaded the hearts into place and hung them.

The banner features words describing love from I Corinthians 13:4-8a.

After completing one, I had a few hearts and a small section of yellow rope left over.  It was enough to make a smaller, vertical banner.

This one features words from I Corinthians 13:13, and it, too, hangs in our dining room.  Both banners were so simple to create, but each adds a sweet visual reminder of some of God's words on love to our home.

  1. What a great idea! Very simple, but some of my favorite verses of scripture. Thanks for sharing! Maybe we will do that today!

  7. This is absolutely brilliant! I love it! So much better than the "hot stuff" and "be mine" conversation hearts. Plus, it's a great way to spread God's word and write it on the doorposts of our home.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day by using what God says about love!

You are always so creative. You're children are fortunate to have such a creative mama. :)
