Watering the Earth

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV)

It was a  downpour.
No, not just raining,
not a shower,
definitely not a sprinkling,
and it was absolutely not 'spitting rain,' as we call those little drops of rain,
it was a downpour.
The day after I went outside to find the lilies looking well watered.
I was reminded of the verse above, and had to put the two together.

  1. I'm wanting a downpour of His Word! (And some rain would be good on our parched land . . . )

    Praying for both today!
