Autumn Pocket Folder

The other week, I decided to make our preschooler his own Autumn Pocket Folder.  It was to contain activities that he could do and be a size he could carry on his own.

I used one piece of 8.5"X11" paper to construct the folder pictured above.
By folding one edge up, I created pockets.

Then, I used red colored tape to seal the sides.
I continued the red tape up the entire length
of the side purely for aesthetics.
Using letters and stickers left over from previous projects,
I decorated the front cover.

Next, I cut out autumn shapes and pictures to fill the pockets.
These could then be used for matching individual items,
letter recognition, and matching colors.

I laminated the individual items for durability.

All the items fit neatly into the pocket folder,
and are easy to carry around the house
and to activities outside of the home.

  1. Wow! That looks fantastic. Do you free-hand your shapes and letters or do you have a pattern? They all look so great. :)

  2. Summer,
Thank you for the kind words.
The cut out shapes are from patterns. While I do have some cut outs that I drew for other projects, the ones pictured are not.
The letters on the cut out shapes are done in my own handwriting.
