Leafy Art Work

Over a year ago, I was flipping through an art book that directed children to use natural elements to create works of art. I really wanted to try something like this with my children, but have not gotten around to it until today.  Unfortunately, I don't remember the title or author of the art book.  So, I don't know who to credit.

Here are their original creations using this borrowed idea.

A butterfly and a tree

A horse in a barn with a sun shining

A clover
We used leaves, scissors, glue, and a large piece of white paper for a background.  The children enjoyed this project greatly.  I heard comments like "I could do this all afternoon" as they diligently worked on their creations.  I'd have to deem it a successful project!

We are doing "leaf sticking" at playgroup tomorrow and this is another fab way to do this. Thank you so much for linking up to Kids Get Crafty.

  3. What an excellent way to have some fall fun! The horse in the barn is my favorite!

I don't know if it would last, but it'd be neat to see them framed!

  6. We will have to get around to doing this sometime ourselves, if only we remembered to bring our nature finds inside to use sometime! They always get forgotten and left in the car after a long day :(

I love the butterfly, and thought that it really was a clover LOL
