Showing Gratitude to Others

They help and serve, asking for nothing in return...
teaching, encouraging, and reaching others without any expectations of receiving...
giving of themselves,
their gift to us.

We can all think of more than a few individuals who bless our lives.

This season of giving thanks offers us an opportunity to recognize their sacrifices.

It is an opportunity we all have. In a small way, we can give back to those who give of themselves greatly. This autumn, our family decided to seize the opportunity. For the past month, the children and I have been creating and baking small tokens of gratitude, giving those who bless our lives the gift of a thank you.

So far, we've thanked science co-op teachers with chocolate covered pretzel rods, Sunday school teachers and flag football coaches with chocolate peanut butter candies, and my assistant co-op teachers with loaves of pumpkin bread.

Though I know we won't be able to give to everyone, somehow, in someway, it warms our hearts to thank those we can.

  1. What lovely gestures!! I'm sure they are much appreciated - and how wonderful for your children to learn that by giving back they are receiving so much more.

I've missed visiting your space - glad to be back!
