We planned an afternoon trip to the art museum. It was what I thought I wanted.
Until we started singing during church. The words flashed up on the screen with a beautiful picture of the ocean, which got me thinking... It would be a great day for the beach...
with sunshine and temperatures in the seventies, a good day, indeed.
After church, we went home, changed, packed a lunch, grabbed the chairs and umbrellas, and headed out the door for a long drive to the shore. We arrived in time to set up and eat a late lunch. Then, we headed to the water.
Most stayed dry.
Thankfully, we provided grand entertainment to a sweet older couple with front row seats to our children's drenching. They were taking wagers on which child would end up soaked first! {For the record, our youngest pictured here, was not the first to fall in. He just happens to be the only one I got a photograph of sopping wet.}
Sand castles, sand angels, which are snow angels, but in the sand, and tossing the football on the beach rounded out our fun day.
Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!
