Oh, the beauty of spring flowers blooming in the back yard flower beds
and inside our home.
The scents, so delicate and fragrant.
The hyacinth currently gracing the inside of our home was given to me by my mom, but the scent reminds me of another hyacinth we received many, many years ago when a couple came to visit.
They were the Pastor and his wife from the first church my husband and I attended. When they came to dinner at our old home, they brought with them a beautiful flower, a hyacinth. I'll never forget the lavish words she bestowed upon us that evening.
She said, "This flower is for you, because you and your family are the sweet fragrance of Christ to us." Oh, what a gracious compliment! Her sweet words have left a lasting imprint on my heart. It is an impression of hope and encouragement that somehow our imperfect walk is a sweet fragrance of offering to the Lord and others might see Him and His grace through our lives.
For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
