A Different View on Bloom Where You Are Planted

There it grew,
a bit of yellow gracing a thin, dark stem
on a field of green.
Delicate and vibrant.

How it would survive
as 5 and 6 year olds
trampled the ground
and kicked the ball,
I did not know.

The game started
and the players ran.
They kicked the ball
each other
and laughed.
Coaches urged them on.

No one payed attention to the
lone tall flower.
They weren't careful to miss it.
They didn't side step it.
No one treasured it
while the game wore on.
No one rooted it on.

How it would survive
such carelessness,
I did not know.

But, it did.

  1. And we do, in Christ. Somehow, we survive this messy world. Better yet are those that survive and retain a thankful spirit. For we know that we are treasured, don't we? Great thoughts, friend.
